Guitar and Ukulele Lessons

New to the studio for 2018. Students can now take classes in Guitar and Ukulele from our award winning teacher Marlène Lemers-Demay.

Ukulele and Guitar

We offer both Ukulele and Guitar classes. Younger kids benefit from starting on Ukulele, a smaller instrument ideal for small hands!

Instruments can be purchased or rented through the studio. 

Tuition - Summary of fees:

A trial lesson is offered completely free of charge to give lessons a try. 

The fee breakdown is as follows:

  • $26.00 - 30 Minutes Lessons
  • $37.50 - 45 Minutes Lessons
  • $49.10 - 60 Minute Lessons

As with piano classes, all books and materials used are covered in the costs of tuition.

The shorter lesson 30 minute lessons are aimed at beginner students between the ages of 4 and 7, with longer lessons recommended for teenage and adult students.

Voilà Marlène!

Marlène Demers-Lemay is an award-winning Quebec-based classical guitarist, well recognised for her work as an active soloist and chamber musician. A passionate teacher, Marlène maintains a class at Chapman Piano Studio where students and parents have praised her for her fun light-hearted approach and patience with young students. Marlène has taught in several well-established Montréal based programs including l'École des Jeunes de l'Université de Montréal.

Marlène has been awarded several scholarships and grants from several noted arts organisations and institutions including the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec in 2013 and a scholarship from University Pablo de Olavide in 2017. In 2011 she released her first solo recording, “25”, from the publishing house Les productions d’Oz, which presented twenty-five original pieces written especially for the project by twenty-five different composers.

Marlène is currently pursuing a doctorate in performance at University of Montreal. In June 2017, she completed a second masters degree in performance at University Pablo de Olavide, Spain. Marlène also holds a bachelors degree from University of Ottawa and a masters degree from Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in Lugano under the supervision of guitarist Lorenzo Micheli. She will be recording her second solo album next spring with the Spanish label Contrastes Records.
